Popular Tollywood producer Singanamala Ramesh, who was arrested in Chennai a couple of weeks ago, has reportedly confessed that he had close relations with faction leader Maddelacheruvu Suri and Bhanu Kiran, the prime accused in Suri’s murder case.
He told investigators that Bhanu Kiran met him on January 2 (one day before the murder) and spoke about a plot in Kondapur belonging to him.
"On January 3, my manager called me up and informed me that Suri was murdered. Immediately, I tried to contact Bhanu on his phone, but it was switched off. Later, I contacted Bujji, an associate of Suri, who told me that Suri had been shifted to hospital. After some time, Kalyan rang up and told me that Suri was murdered by Bhanu,” a report quoted Ramesh as saying.
Ramesh also confessed to threatening film financier Vyjayanthi Reddy, to whom he owed Rs. 14 crores. He told CID officials that he had threatened her against demanding repayment of the money, saying that he had the backing of Bhanu Kiran.
